Make a Difference in Lewis County—Volunteer with MRC

Who are the MRCs?
The Master Recycler Composter (MRC) Volunteer Program is a partnership between WSU Extension and Lewis County Solid Waste, focused on reducing waste and promoting sustainable practices. Volunteers receive training in recycling, composting, and waste reduction, then give back through workshops, youth outreach, and community events. If you’re passionate about environmental stewardship and want to make a local impact, consider applying to become an MRC volunteer.
While the WSU Extension Master Recycler Composter (MRC) and Master Gardener programs are distinct, they share a common mission: empowering Lewis County residents to care for the environment through education and hands-on service. Our county organizations work closely together to support sustainable practices—from composting and waste reduction to soil health and native plant education.
